In a report, players of the Spanish football teams Barcelona and Real Madrid are paid an average of more than $7 million annually.

The said teams surpassed the New York Yankees who are paid an average of $6.8million. 

In UK, Chelsea footballers are coming in at 6th spot in the pay scale receiving the highest pay.

Also included on the line up for the best-paid football teams are Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal which are all under the best-paying football league worldwide, Premiere  League.

Meanwhile, taking the fourth and the fifth place are basketball teams Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic under the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Considering the common trend wherein basketball and baseball players are known to receive the biggest salaries, the European football players are now continuously catching up.

However, the constant wage increase may result to changes with new rules by Uefa, the European football’s governing department.

In a yearly study done by Deloitte accountants, Real Madrid has been on the top of the richest football teams for six years straight now. The study done was based on a daily income from football business.
