Kim Wright, a 41-year old mother, has decided to go and lose weight soon after she experienced public humiliation for not fitting into a roller coaster seat.

Wright and her children felt extreme embarrassment when three park attendants were required to force her into her roller coaster seat and buckle her up. At that point, she decided to make changes in her life─that is to be healthier.

A month after the humiliation at Six Flags Amusement Park in Texas, Wright joined Slimming World, a British weight-loss organization that is now operating in the US. She attends weekly meetings and works out six times a week.

Wright used to weigh 289.5 pounds. She also used to suffer from sleep apnea, high cholesterol and foot and back problems because of her size. But sixteen months after joining Slimming World, she was already able to lose 112.5 pounds. The organization also taught her how to pick and eat healthy foods.

After her weight loss, she now feels like a different person, who has more energy. She now also finds enjoyment in shopping as she could already fit in the clothes she likes.

As one of the results of her transformation, she earned the title of Woman of the Year 2013 from Slimming World.  Wright now works part-time as a coach for other women who are trying to lose weight. Now weighing 177 pounds, she still intends to lose 30 pounds until she reaches her healthy weight range.
