TAM Airlines, which is part of the Brazilian company LATAM Airlines Group, has declared that it will no longer offer first class service on its intercontinental flights to some parts of the world.

First class seats will no longer be available on flights coming from France, Germany, Italy, the UK, Spain, Mexico, the US, and vice-versa.

According to Jerome Cadier, chief marketing officer of LATAM Airlines Group, the first class service was discontinued to expand the airline’s business class service. Since the demand for business class trips is increasing, the company has decided to focus more on how to better serve its customers. It also took into consideration the average load factor of the first class service.

By the last quarter of the year, a new service crew in TAM Airlines will be giving the passengers a better travel experience. Called the “head of on-board service,” the assigned flight attendant will be roving around different cabins to monitor the flight crew service.

The company also began making improvements with its Boeing 777 aircraft. From being a 45-seater, the airplane will have 56 more comfortable business class seats. The said aircraft is used for the airlines’ UK flights.

TAM Airlines currently offers the business class and the economy class seats. Cadier said that with the recent changes, the company can offer a more improved and innovative travel experience to its passengers.
